Here is a list of web-based code editors — this time including brief descriptions.
- 9ne is similar to Emacs and licensed under the GPL. There is a demo, but I was not able to access the source code.
- Bespin is a Mozilla Labs experiment on how to build an extensible Web code editor using HTML 5 technology. Its editor can be reused. The introductory video explains its main features, but I was not able to use them in person.
- Ecco is an online programming development environment (written in Java) with file manager, console interface and an editor with syntax highlighting, tabs and support for many languages.
While I was writting this sumary, I found a page in wikipedia with other editors. I will search now for literate programming tools.
